We are all 17 except one of us who is 16. There is hopefully going to be a group of 10. 6 are girls and 4 guys. Three of us have California drivers licenses, and we are all pretty responsible, and we will be taking two large trucks. We are not unfamiliar with camping as we have lived in a mountainous region since birth or at least 10 years old. Camping is a regular thing to us. We have the location, but not exactly sure about the supplies or how to find out whether there is a legal age limit or permits for fire and what not. We will be staying at a place 2 hours from home, for about three days two nights. We really want to have an awesome time as to it is our last spring break together before Senior Year. So any suggestions, questions, warnings, ‘you better not do that’ s, haha, all comments welcome. Also we are going to camp in California in the Sequoia National Forest.

I currently live in Denver. I like everything about here, but I may need to start looking else where for work. The things I love about it are that the people are nice, there are not many bugs, the weather is great all year round, and if I want to go into the snow I can do that 9 months a year too. I like things like camping, fishing, snowboarding. I have lived in Iowa and I think that is too humid, and I have been down south and think that is too hot. Plus humidity begs for bugs, which I don’t care for. Also, believe it or not, but Denver does not get stupid cold for more than a day or two at a time during the winter. The cold can stay a little ways away.
So, if I start looking for work elsewhere, where else might be comparable to colorado?

would like something light and easy to manage so we can load it on a pickup. Also do not want to spend a fortune now, just want to see if or how often we actually use it. Any suggestions on type or what we should look for in a bike.

My boyfriend is enlisting in the marines. As of now he’s doing delayed entry because he wants to make sure he can get his MOS that he wants which is Fire Crash and Rescue. He wants to be a fireman when all is said and done and having experience like what the marines has to offer will surely make it almost guaranteed that he gets a job at a station when he is done serving.

Now with all that said, as his girlfriend what do I have to look forward to? I support everything he is doing and planning on doing. I’m so proud of him! But I of course do have my worries…Hey, I’m a girl, it’s what we do. I’m just so afraid that when he comes back from boot camp he’ll be different…I know he’ll be different in multiple ways but I’m just so terrified that he wont be the giant teddy bear that I fell in love with (by teddy bear I do not mean pansy…he’s not a pansy at all; looks like an abercrombie bag ad, lead his high school football team in tackles and was all Ohioan, benches 320, unfortunately has set some kids straight…hes not a pansy. But he treats me the way I should be treated and is the most loving man I could imagine there could be) With that said, I’m worried he’ll lose that. Am I being too paranoid?

Also, I would like to know how it all works out. He goes to boot camp, he finishes and comes home for I think 10 days, then goes back to finish his schooling (which for fire crash and rescue I think it’s stationed in Hawaii? My sister ran track at the university there and knew some of the guys on base). How does it all work out? After he’s done with school, then what? He gets stationed at a base somewhere in the states and then most likely sent over seas somewhere? I’d really like to know how it all works out.

Also, I’m curious as to how it works with being a girlfriend and not a wife, when all is said and done with his schooling/training. I plan on moving with him to where ever he is stationed…unless ya know, it’s over seas…then I can’t go:p :[ but since I’m graduating from my school this year and my career choice of medical coding/billing/transcription is quite the wide range of careers so getting a job once moved shouldn’t be too entirely hard. I’m just trying to get a grasp of how this will all pan out before it’s a little late for planning. I do have time…or so Ryan tells me, the boyfriend, since he wont leave for basic until sometime in October or November…unless his MOS opens up which would make it sooner :[

I wish I could join with him…I’ve always thought of doing something military, ever since I was in 3rd grade the ideas just been stuck in my head. I’m shocked I even finished my schooling this year because I almost went to a recruiters office the third day of class because I wanted more of my life…Unfortunately, I had a horrible thing happen to me involving a somewhat suicide attempt (not really…I don’t know what I wanted from the overdose but I just wanted an escape from what all had happened) so any sort of military is out of the question for me I’m pretty positive once they would dig up my medical history. Not positive if they put me down as “attempted suicide” since they had to save their butts by not making my do the required 72hour hold. I don’t know. But most likely, it’d be a big DQ. I would hate to waste a recruiters time just to be told I messed up and can’t join.

Any way, I’m all for his choice of career. I want to be there for everything. He means the world to me and I love him more than should be possible. I’d really appreciate any sort of information/help in understanding what I have to look forward to in the too near future. Thank you so much for your time.

And if you’re a Marine/Military man, woman, or relative of one replying to this…thank you. For everything you’ve done for all of us.
I am in no way worried about him being unfaithful. He hates girls. Like….hates them. Yes, I am a girl. But I don’t act like the normal wenches you find. Thank god I grew up around sports and took a beating in other ways too. What doesn’t kill you makes you tougher right?…and less of the “ohmuhgawd I broke my nail!” prissy pants. We are not going to waver. We’ve been through too much to begin with. And…I’m his first and like I said, he hates girls. Trust me, he had offers before me…stupid girls at parties and such, but he was too proud and smart to give in to sluts. He is the most respectful kid that I have ever met and probably ever will. He treats me the way I should be treated. And he never has strayed his eyes before. I know I sound like a naive woman who thinks her high school sweetheart can do no wrong, but I’m serious…he’s too good for that shit. He. Hates. Dumb. Nasty. Bitch3s.

And if you don’t believe that then…how about: our sex life is way too good for him to gi
