Archive for match

My Father was a competitive shooter for the Ohio National Guard Camp Perry back in the 1930-40′s. He fired 30-06 and 22. His 22 was a bolt action “Savage NRA Match Rifle” # 29804 with patents dated from Sept 28, 1905 to Nov 20, 1917. I don’t see a model number. My brother and I shot quite a few squirrel and woodchuck with it. Can you tell me what it is worth? Thanks.

I am in a debate with someone who is making forth the case that he can go through life without learning how to start a match and will NEVER need the skill no matter what, for sure.

I’ve said” So you would go your whole life without lighting a grill” ? he said “sure”

I said ” lighting a furnace? we won’t live in this Southern state forever”

He said ” I never have to do that”

I won’t bring up camping, he is SURE to say” i’ll never camp”

I mentioned “sterilize a needle?” He said ” I wont give first aid to someone, in order to do that. How about that”

I said ” what if you want to light candles to make a romantic night for your girlfriend?” he said ” go to a restraunt and let them light candles. :P

At this rate, he’ll make his wife light his and her birthday candles eventually when he get;s one(he’s a bit young)

I’m now running out. Basically i’m trying to come up with reasons why it IS important to know how to light a match.
OR a lighter, he thinks he can go without ALL of that

I need to put up curtains that go on a sliding patio door in my living room. I have all natural hardwood light ash floors & a very light sage green area rug. My furniture is light tan microfiber suede with dark brown leather arms. What color curtains would match this room?

The furniture style is Palm Valley II and the brand is Better Homes and Gardens. I have extra pillows that I want to cover to match the fabric on the furniture.
