I’m going on a fishing/camping trip and need an extra boat motor, but obviously they are fairly expensive, even used ones. I am curious to see if anyone has heard of marinas or motor sports stores RENTING outboard motors. The trip will be in northern Michigan.

Thanks.

So I’m currently in the market for a new dirt bike to screw around with and I came across someone selling an 06 United Motors 150 Dirt bike for a really good price… I know that brand new they are only two grand. Anyway my question is are they any good? Has anybody had any experience with them? I like to trail ride at an off road park here in oregon called Brown’s Camp so I was wondering if anyone knew how they handle on trails… Are they pretty sturdy or am I just going to bog down and break shit when I’m trying to power through mud holes and up some pretty steep and severe terrain. ANY kind of review or input at all would be great thanks.
well the 150 I’m looking at has a few custom upgrades and the seller used it for trails and hill climbs. He said that it did just fine, but I want to double check. The particular one they are selling is an 08 that his daughter outgrew as she has moved up to a 250 and he’s cutting me a deal for $500… but still I just wanted to check to see if its worth it.

They are all talk about how they care, but in the end they are liars, extremely heartless`and all about the money. It’s a small time co owned by 2 brothers.

We are a family of 7 with 3 adults and 4 children. My mom is disabled and on a fixed income. My 17 year old sis is a single mom of 2, and works full time, and has had her job for over a year now. My older brother just found a job after a long search, that pays pretty good, and it’s not something he wants nor can we afford for him to lose. We are on the verge of losing our home, and this job was a godsend.

We live out in the middle of nowhere and they both commute in opposite directions. Sis works 22 miles from home, and my brother works 55 miles away. His job is swing shift from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.

We had 2 working vehicles, and within the first week of my brothers new job, both cars broke down and are beyond repair, but we dumped some money into them to try. They were older, well maintained, but lots of miles on them, and it was just there time, and apparently…just our luck.

Now sis is doing what she can to get back and forth to keep her job. It’s a bit easier on her since she works days, but still touch and go. She’s a real fighter, and I just pray she finds someone nice enough to share gas and continue to commute, rather then give a ride for a few days, etc…

On the other hand, my brother has been hitchhiking to work for 4 weeks now. Not too bad going to work, though he has been late a few times. Getting home is an entirely different story. 99.9% of all people that work at his plant, go home in the opposite direction of him. It’s late at night, with no traffic on lonely rural roads, so hitchhiking isn’t really an option. He’s gotten a few rides, from guys at work, for free, and I can’t thank them enough. One night he attempted to hitch, and ended up walking to the point of passing out. Fortunately a man found him on the side of the road and got him home safely…this being 8 hours after his shift ended…he ate, packed his lunch and headed back to work. Yes, he had a few guys (brothers) that helped him with a place to stay for a few days, which was awesome, but they quit working for the plant.

Last week while on his way to work, a really nice guy picked him up, and low and behold, he and his brother own a car dealership…a buy here pay here dealership, and he was so understanding of our situation, and very impressed at how tenacious my brother was about keeping his job. No one really understands how important this job is to him/us, and those who find out about the situation either think my brother is nuts, or have a lot of respect for him. This salesman/owner was def on the respectful side. He told my brother that the very car he was driving could be had for $200 down and $300 per month. A 91 Honda Accord (which are like the energizer bunny). He also said there were a variety of cars to choose from, and that he would get us in one of them as soon as he got his next check. Man was that a blessing! We were so happy cause payday was only 2 days away, and all other buy here pay here lots require a lot more down. I’m sure you’re wondering…we don’t have the credit nor the means to make the serious payments that a new car lot would require.

Anyway…

My brother called and spoke to the other brother, Tony about more cars that were on the lot, and mentioned the ride with Richard and the conversation they had. Tony wasn’t quite on the same page as his brother, but they came to an agreement on the Accord for $250 down. The next day when my brother called, Tony told him that Richard had decided to keep that car for him self, unless we wanted to come up with the full sale price. Well okay, that was out of the question, so what else was there to choose from. Amazingly, there was only ONE car that was actually marked at $200 down. Not much choice but to go for that one, since all the rest were $800 and up. My brother was going to have to hitchhike 22 miles (the opposite direction of work) into the dealership the next morning, and still try to make it to work on time, with or without a car, so he made sure that all things were out in the open, and that they were very well aware of the time constraints, and the possibility of his being late for work, which could cost him his job. They assured him they would move the car around back and promised that the paperwork would take less then 10 mins, since they already had the contract virtually filled out.

This morning, we were so excited! He took off to go get his new car…no more freezing at night, wondering when or if he would get home…walking and walking…little or no sleep, and having to perform a very strenuous job on top of that.

So, off he goes! Then he calls me…

Not more then 2 hours after my brother had gotten off the phone with them yesterday, someone came in and gave them $800 cash for our promised car…well how could they ref
Sorry, some of my “novel” didn’t show up…there was a question…How do people like that sleep at night?
