I want to go camping here in the next month, but I want to go backpacking/hiking as well. I know there are a lot of good forests and state parks in the surrounding area of Spokane and I am just wondering if you can camp anywhere within them and have a small fire. Otherwise, where might you suggest I go?
I would rather not use the drive-up “campground” type places.

I would prefer to park and hike to a spot.
