Archive for Purchased

I bought a Camper last year while living in Illinois from a gentleman in Missouri. I have a clean MO title in hand. I now live in Texas. I never transfered the title or got new registration for the camper as I was doing some work on it before taking it on the open road. Now I would like to get Texas registration and title since I am going to have it towed down here.

The camper is still in Illinois. My plan was to get the plates and take them up to Illinois and put them on the camper so i could legally tow it down here. But I heard some campers (maybe all?) require a safety inspection first. I have found no reliable information on this process. If anyone could help me out, please answer back!

The camper is the pop up kind, single axle, and approx 2500 lbs.

I purchased a travel trailer and RV lot using personal loan. I do not plan on renting but using as second home. What can be deducted on taxes?

I have a 9′ slide in truck camper from the late 70′s. I also have a ’99 F350 dually pickup. The back end of my pickup measures exactly 8′ wide from out edges of tires and wheel wells. From inner most point to inner most point of my tripod jacks measures 6′. What can I purchase online to extend my stands out an extra foot on each side to allow the 8′ clearance? I have seen a box extension and a bracket but that still puts me under where I need to be. The jacks are currently mounted on the outer most point of the camper. Does anyone have any secrets or helpful suggestions besides to consult with my local RV place (they are not used to these type campers since I am from NJ)? It came with a 3 jack setup setup (2 jacks on L side, 1 on right) and not four like usual. I would only need to extend the two closest to the front. Also any home made extensions ideas are much appreciated! Thanks!

the pop up trailer is old (1977) the previous owner can’t find the registration and i have a notarized letter handing ownership over to me. but because the vin is not coming up in the system dmv won’t let me register it.
this is in New Jersey, I am told the trailer is old, and never had a title. that’s just the way trailers go. I have a paper with the vin from the trailer, from the prev. owner, and notarized, but dmv can’t find the vin, therefore won’t register it. they are willing to, it’s just the vin is not in their system

It is in need of major updating. Walls, floor, counter and cushions. I am not sure if their is someplace that has information on remodeling a travel trailer. I want to chang the color of the inside which means the walls, curtains, table cushions, couch, carpet and flooring. The sink sags and needs to have a new counter top and the floor in the kitchen sags and needs to be replaced. Any suggestion on books, magazines or internet I would appreciate the help.

The tongue of the trailer is in the front and the doors and windows face the right side. There is no where for the truck to get out as the property is heavy woods and large rocks. There is a nice pull in spot for the camper. My question is: how can I place the trailer where I want it without having to cut down all the tree’s and remove the large rocks, some of which weight 500 or more lbs. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I would like to bring it camping. Is this the next best thing if we do not bring a small grill?

Target still carries the furniture, but does not sell the cushions separately It is a conversation set and the cushions are 24″x27″. The only cushions they sell are 21″x23″. I have spoken to “Guest Relations” who referred me to the manufacturer, who told me they do not supply separate cushions and referred me to “Pier One Imports” or “Sears”. Both did not have anything the size I need. Called Target “Guest Relations” again, and basically got the answer……too bad. I’m not so well off I can spend $700.00 on patio furniture every 18 monts…..Any suggestions???
