RV sagging headliner is typical in older motorhomes with vinyl perforated headliner with foam backing so replacement is almost a must and cant be saved because of the rotted foam the vinyl seperated from. I hope this video helps and answers any questions about replacing the headliner, its no easy task but it can be done by anyone with the right materials and tools and best of all you can save the $5000.00 a shop would charge to replace it!

I have about 160,000 miles on the struts and shocks on my 96 Toyota Tacoma SR5 4X4. Most of the miles have been highway. But when I had my truck into Toyota last week for an oil change and lube, the mechanic showed me my passenger side rear shock sheared off like someone amputated it. ;-/ Likely due to the 1000 lb weight of a small pop-up cab-over camper I sometimes carry (and also off road sometimes). I have Firestone rear airbags to level the vehicle, but even still, I busted a shock.

So, my question is what brand and type front struts and rear shocks would you get for this vehicle if it were your truck? I plan to keep the truck for an unknown number of years. The motor and trans are solid.

I have looked at Monroe’s Sensatrac and Bilsteins heavy duty B46 struts and shocks and having had no experience in either of these, I find it hard to make up my mind. It seemed these Bilsteins were the best, but then I started reading some reviews about folk being disspointed. I am getting confused.

Any an all advise would be welcomed!! And, thank you in advance.

Walter

I sometimes carry a 1000 pound cap-over, pop up camper on my 96 Toyota Tacoma 4WD and my stock shocks and struts are wasted in need of replacement. What kind can I get, consdiering teh load and also my distain of washboard desert roads? I really don;t want my eye teeth falling out because some brand of shock is in voque. Yet, I need something heavier duty — at least in the rear, due to the load I sometimes carry. The vehcile has strust in teh front; shocks in the rear.

Please, as many folk who can reply, I’d be grateful for the mutitude of opinions.

My 1996 Coachman RV uses a Ford 350 Econoline engine, a V10. I would like to switch engines so I can use bio-desiel fuel. Would the current turbo desiel and transmission be able to be installed?

We all want to have hot water when we are RVing, but not too hot. Many RVs come with a fixed water heater thermostat set on 1400F and that is just too hot for many people. If this is the case for you, watch Stew Oleson find out the solution: to exchange the fixed thermostat for an adjustable one so you can lower the temperature to where you find it comfortable.

My husband and I have a 1972 Travelmate Trailer Camper, and we are planning to tear all of the insides out and rebuild everything, but we need to find replacement parts like small oven and stove, fridge, lights, doors, drawers, cabinets, and stuff like that.
