How much does my layton skyline camper weigh?
Posted by: | CommentsI have a 2000 layton skyline camper, model 248-lt, 24ft long. The gvwr is 5500 pounds but I am trying to find the weight of the empty trailer itself.

Don’t buy a trailer from Skyline, they SUCK. What else can I say, I live in a desert and these wheels are totally rusting away. The wheels on any vehicle should last at least the life of the vehicle. The tires are no better. The tires and rims they use are only rated for 1820 pounds each, x 4 = 7280 . GVWR for this trailer is 7700 pounds, minus the hitch weight of 652 = 7048. 7280-7048=232 extra pounds of capacity. Thats just not enough when using Chinese made junk tires. If they had used the Goodyear 225/75 R15C tires it would add 300 pounds capacity per tire, putting the total tire capacity at 8600 pounds. That would be acceptable for a trailer this size.

This is a Beautiful 2004 Aljo by Skyline its a Avalanch and it is in great shape. Everything works sink stove water toilet oven microwave bathtub shower Nice Large Slideout. this is the perfect unit for camping, hunting or to live in if you wish… The Camper is Clean and fridge is smell free Cold A/C and Hot heat etc gets no better. i tried to get all the angles and show any problems with the unit and there is just not much wrong to speak of scrape on side in pics and anything you see in them call me anytime with questions Nathan at 406 544 6919
