Thanx!
We are all 17 except one of us who is 16. There is hopefully going to be a group of 10. 6 are girls and 4 guys. Three of us have California drivers licenses, and we are all pretty responsible, and we will be taking two large trucks. We are not unfamiliar with camping as we have lived in a mountainous region since birth or at least 10 years old. Camping is a regular thing to us. We have the location, but not exactly sure about the supplies or how to find out whether there is a legal age limit or permits for fire and what not. We will be staying at a place 2 hours from home, for about three days two nights. We really want to have an awesome time as to it is our last spring break together before Senior Year. So any suggestions, questions, warnings, ‘you better not do that’ s, haha, all comments welcome. Also we are going to camp in California in the Sequoia National Forest.
Is there anywhere a person can go and dig for dinosaur bones free?
Posted by: | CommentsI google searched “where can I dig for dinosaur bones” and got unlimited results from people who want to sell “fossil tours”.
1. I don’t want to go with a group of people.
2. I don’t want to pay for it.
3. If I find something spectacular, I want to keep it.
All these sites have a limit of what you can keep for a day – like $50 worth of fossils.
Ridiculous!
Isn’t there anywhere I can go out by myself, and just camp out, and spend the day looking for fossils without all that hassle?
I live in West Tennessee. There aren’t really any good dino-fossils here, because during the Cretacious era, this was an ocean.
Can any of you veterans out there answer this please?
Posted by: | CommentsOk, so I’ve gotten myself into a bind of sorts. Upon being honorably discharged from the Marine Corps, I took a job in Colorado Springs, Colorado and I am still here. Anyway, long story short, I got laid off here and started going to the community college here and am now at the satellite CU campus here in town. First of all, I would like like to say that I feel that, at least in terms of academics and professors, that the school is pretty good and I would give it an A for a letter grade. However, with that said and despite the fact that Colorado Springs is a beautiful/scenic town, I am not happy with the demographics of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Specifically, there is ZERO dating potential for a single man here in this town UNLESS you are an active duty Soldier or Airman (just like Camp Lejeune/Jax, NC was) because alot of women are looking for financial security in a serviceman’s paycheck. Moreover, most women who move here do so with their Army or Air Force husbands. I have met some other female student veterans in my classes, but, I kid you not, they are ALL already married. I have a 4.0 GPA so far this semester and I tend to excel academically, but I am socially isolated to the EXTREME and have grown tired of being this way due to being stuck here in this town. I applied to UT Austin last semester and was rejected due to them literally not having the space for out of state students because Texas has so many people. Moreover, I called OU in Oklahoma today and was told that the Yellow ribbon program which pays out of state tuition for veterans is FULL. I am about to the point where I just about ready to say F*** it and pay out of state tuition at either UT Knoxville, UNC-Asheville, or Western Carolina University since my family lives out there. Do you think that I would be making a mistake by moving back home and having to literally take out extra thousands of dollars in order to pay out of state tuition OR do you think that I should do just that for my mental well being? One of my goals upon leaving the Marine Corps was to be able to date and eventually start a family, but it isn’t going to happen for me so long as I stay in this “prison town”.
Sure there are women in Colorado Springs. the thing is that 90% of them are ALREADY married AND the women at my college only want to go out with guys that they went to high shcool with.

Is there a good Excuse I can tell my parents?
Posted by: | CommentsI am almost 18 (On July 27) and my parents are strict. If I told them the truth, they would get super pissed, and would not allow me to go. I was wondering what Excuse should I use to my parents to go visit my friend who lives in Oklahoma. Im in Washington Dc.I plan on going there for the weekend. So far, Ive only thought of basketball camp or college visit, but Im not sure. Help!
And also, should I stay for the weekend or an entire week?
The Only problem is, my dad is unreasonable! He will find the most un-logical reasons and will complain about it over and over again. If I did come out with the truth, I might be able to convince my mom..but my dad, thats a whole different story. A very unreasonable man. Plus, he drinks..so that doesn’t help.
are there any beaches in florida that allow camp fires?
Posted by: | CommentsIs there a name for a more private camping ground?
Posted by: | CommentsI really enjoy camping outdoors, but I can’t stand when I get to the campsite and realize that there’s literally a million more tents right on top of me. I like when your in an isolated campsite and no other tents in site. I’ve only ever found this in Yellowstone when you can backpack to certain campgrounds. To me this is real camping and much more enjoyable. I’m hoping there’s a name for this I can look up, I tried private camping…didn’t work. OR if you can give me some places in upstate New York that have this option would also help.
Thanks
