I’m looking for tent camping and in a national forest where we can just camp anywhere, ideally not a “camping site”
Anyone know of any beautiful secluded places to camp in Colorado?

I’ve had a 5th generation 30GB (video) iPod since August ’06. I’ve never had a problem with it until two weeks ago. I plugged it into a family member’s USB cord to charge it on the computer for a few minutes before I left home. The USB cord was Griffin brand (I think, but I know it wasn’t Apple). A message popped up a few minutes later that said, “your iPod needs to be reformatted to work with Windows. Do you want to reformat?” And I clicked “no”. After I removed my iPod to my dismay my full iPod had been reformatted anyway! Then I plugged it into my laptop with a proper Apple cord and iTunes told me it was corrupted and needed to be restored. I clicked restore, it went through all the stages, told me it was complete, and after the iPod restarted it asked me to restore it again – the restore loop of death.

So I reset it. I reformatted it. I (tried to) restore it. I remapped the network path to I:, and then M: when that didn’t work. I retried in numerous USB ports, I uninstalled and reinstalled the latest iTunes. I ran diagnostics tests on my iPod, EXCEPT for the scan HDD because apparently that test doesn’t exist on my iPod. Then I did the scan on my computer and it was apparently error free. My iPod doesn’t exhibit any weird sounds by the way, when it’s starting or anything and nothing seems loose in it. After trying all these things a hundred times I got frustrated and hit the bottom backside of the iPod against a wooden desk. When I plugged it into my computer again it finally allowed me to restore it. I was a happy camper… it let me rename my iPod and everything. But when I tried to put music on, it would copy one or two songs and then give me an error -69 from iTunes. I had to disconnect the iPod and reconnect to try to move two songs. Usually I got a -69 but once a -53. The sync didn’t work properly so I uninstalled/reinstalled iTunes again. Nothing. So then I downloaded SharePod and MediaMonkey and they wouldn’t transfer my songs either. My computer-savvy boyfriend also worked on it for a total of 7 hours and couldn’t get it working either.

What could be the problem with my iPod?! Is it my hard drive? Can it be fixed? What should I do with it now? I have a suspicion that the non-official USB cord (the Griffin one) messed it up permanently. Have you heard of non-Apple cords corrupting iPods???

Thanks so much.

I don’t care about distance, really, just planning on a backpack, and I have five days at my disposal, in March. I want to go somewhere with the most solitude possible, but still beautiful and fun. I’m 17 and my hiking partner is 16, and we live in Colorado and are used to backpacking.

I want to camp INSIDE the canyon, near the floor… I was looking at the Clear Creek Trail and the Ottoman Amphatheater, but it looks pretty popular for that time of year.

My husbands ex who he has a baby with is abusing rx drugs horribly, she wrecked her car last night driving up the wrong side of the highway towards traffic. There were two girls who saw the whole thing and stopped, the ex got out laughing she was so high she didnt even know if the baby was with her. She flipped out and got a drug dealer to come pick her up, because the girls called the police. She has had social services here called on her 14 times by 14 people, including her daycare, cause she left that baby there. They wont do anything, now wont even return our phone calls. They wont go and investagate, she is living in a camper trailer with no running water. I am terrified that this baby is going to get killed, and a, afraid that my hands are tied! We dont know what to do and are desperate! Please any advise will help.

I Bought a Camper from a very reputable RV dealer. I think its the only used camper they’ve ever sold or tryed to sell. I picked up the camper in August, Signed the first loan contract and bill of sale, didn’t hear from them. In Oct. they called and said they had trouble getting the title right and would I please sign a new loan contract. Well here it is in Jan 08′ , I haven’t heard from them since Oct. They’re still in business, I’ve never heard anyone say anything bad against them on buying a new camper. Would I be in the right if and when they do call back wanting to sign a new contract which will be the 3rd one — shouldn’t I be able to renegotiate the price much lower ? First I’ll get them to send me a copy of the title which I haven’t seen yet. But is there anything else I should be aware of. I’m sure theres nothing wrong with the title, I just think they don’t have a clue on how to sell a used one since they normally don’t deal with used. NOw What?
I put a deposit down over the phone , but when I picked up the camper, they gave me a check back for the deposit.
So I have absolutley nothing invested in the camper. I was gonna continue to use it until something happens good or bad. I have the camper insured.
