Archive for wood

My husband is still in boot camp right now, so his MOS school is a ways off, and this question is probably a bit premature. But I was just wondering about some things. If all goes well, he would be going to CBRN training for the Marines at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri for 2 months.
Can I live in Waynesville or one of the nearby towns while he’s there?

I was thinking I would move there on my own for the 2 months, just so that we could spend time together whenever he had leave (which I heard is usually weekends and maybe some nights).

I know that technically the military can’t tell me that I CAN’T move to a town in Missouri, but I was still wondering if I could?

(and for those of you who tell me to stay where I am..I really have nothing left for me here. I work from home, I live in my mother in law’s basement, and I’m really sick of Utah. I was thinking Missouri would be a nice change, and I wouldn’t have to shell out money to come and visit.)
His MOS school is too short for me to be allowed to live WITH him, so I’m just talking about living NEAR him.
I was thinking of just renting an already furnished apartment, so I wouldn’t have to move anything. All of our furniture right now is in a storage facility anyways, where it will stay until he gets his PCS.
I’m not even going to bother moving our stuff. I’m living out a suitcase right now anyways

Hello, I have never used an E-Track tie down except via using them in a U-Haul. They were great and I felt confident that they would hold but I didn’t install them so I’m not sure about the strength. My plan is to use them in my RV to mount a Condor Motorcycle Chock. There are lots of chocks and various methods to tie down a Harley in an RV and Condors are not cheap but the main problem I have is: under the area where I wish to mount this chock is a holding tank. I don’t want to drill too deep and puncture the tank. E-Tracks can be installed with many screws. I think I probably have 3/4 inch to at best one 1 inch of space to work with. Lastly, how strong are E-Tracks when mounted this way? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

My honey is going to be attending a motor transport school in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri next month (after he finishes his month of Marine Combat Training at Camp Pendleton). I need some more information. Are marines usually allowed to do their own thing on the weekends there? Would he be able to stay with me in a hotel? If anyone knows anything about the training or process or area please let me know :) (is there anything fun near there, good places to eat/go out, etc?)

Most importantly —

What airport should I fly into?

Thank you in advance! Your help is appreciated!

This is the second year that a crazy red headed wood pecker has visited us at our trailer in Victoria Palms RV Resort located in Donna Texas in the Rio Grande Valley. The wood pecker flies from the palm tree to the back window of our trailer, then drops to the window ledge and pecks at the window and screen. He then flies back to the palm tree and can repeat the procedure for several hours at a time. There are no bugs and not sure if it sees a reflection so I cannot explain this strange behavior

I’m planning of putting up some horizontal wood blinds on my glass sliding door off my dining room. I like the look and was wondering if anyone else has done this. My furniture is dark cherry traditional so I’m thinking of going with a cream colored blind with brown tape. I had cherry wood blinds before, but they are too much work to keep clean. Is it just a a matter of taste? I’m also leaning with a touch of British Colonial in that room so I thought it would look nice. I don’t want shutters and I thought the wood would look nice and the color would stand the test of time. Any opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks
