A Life Changing Decision

All throughout the world, people experience different types of obstacles, there’s always a cause and effect, for each action. The decisions that I made molded me into the person who I am today. Like for example my junior year I had to move to a different state, which affected my basketball career. It made me realize, “There are more important things in life that must come first.” I was just beginning my junior year at Hillcrest high school. Having a solid resume of basketball under my belt, I had no clue what awaited me, until half way through my junior year. All along I had been training during the summer, attending basketball camps, team practices, open gym play. Leading into the offseason, I found myself in a state of tranquility and happiness. I felt privileged, that I was an upperclassman; I had proven myself time and time again. I would definitely start on Junior Varsity and split starting duties as shooting guard on Varsity. A week or so later, our first home game would begin on a Friday night and I was pumped up. That day after school, walking home from practice, my father made a big decision that tore my heart into pieces. Not analyzing the situation at them time, I got upset and questioned my father, “Why do we have to move to Claremore Oklahoma?” He sat me down gently, and said, “Son, this is how I provide for you. If I don’t work to put food on the table, then who will? Now that I was able to think things out, I felt horrible, because there are more important things to do in life. “In life we make sacrifices, in order to prosper, and lead a healthy and fruitful life.” For that, I thank my father for one of the most important lessons in my life.

i know someone who left for georgia on march 10 2009.
when can he write home to friends and family???

I saw an advertisement recently in Sunset magazine where Rainbow Resort rents houseboats. My family and I (there are three kids and my wife and me) would like to take a vacation on a houseboats from July 17 through July 24 in the California Delta area. We’ve never done this before but it sounds interesting.

Please send me any information you may have. I’ll have to make my vacation plans soon.

I have no idea how much this might cost. If we rent a houseboat, we want to know do you provide bedding, dishes, pots and pans, and the like? I’m wondering about navigating a houseboat. Will we have to take a course or training on how to operate it? It may be too difficult for us to operate. How far can we travel in the Delta area in one of your houseboats? What if we decide to stay on more than one week? I actually have two weeks of vacation, but we may want to travel in our RV part of the time. Does insurance come with the rental fee? Our kids want to know if it has TV.
