If I go active in the Coast Guard can I stay in Alabama?

Or at least stay in the SouthEast? Also, can anyone give me an estimate on how much I will have made total coming out of boot camp and A-school? TIA
In bootcamp you are able to get a guarenteed district assignment (for you it would be District 8 or 7) and then you would have a sort of “dream sheet” where you can pick your cutter or station. IMO you should take the benefit of traveling around the world during your service in the Coast Guard, not just be near home. You have only one home but the world is out there for you to see! You don’t go to A-School unless you are guarenteed a rating (Very rare now) and A-School lengths do vary so I can only estimate the total pay while you were in boot camp.
E-1 W less than 4 months of service – 1338.60 a month
Length of Boot Camp -Approximately 2 months
1338.60 X 2 = $2675.20 before tax
The answer is no. You might get there at some point, but you won’t be able to ‘stay’.
