I live in California, If I went camping or hiking, and a bear charged me, can I shoot it? Like tried to attack me? ***Also, is it even legal to carry a gun at a state park? And Do i have to report the killing?
Thanks

Didn’t you see South Park? As long as you scream “IT’S COMMING RIGHT AT ME!” before you shoot, everything will be fine.
this is a good site for cali state parks related to guns

personally if i were you, id just go up to Oregon to hike..better scenery anyway.
Cali state and county parks do not allow firearms unless the state or county park has specific hunting seasons and area’s no open carry or concealed carry. National Parks allow only licensed concealed carry. National forests and BLM areas are subject to local jurisdiction laws and open carry is generally permitted. Burden of proof is yours when taking game animals in self defense so unless you have a hunting license and a bear tag it is better to bring someone who runs slower then you do for defense against bears.
