We want to just go camping?

we spontaneously decided to go camping tonight. but we’ve never been… where do we go? (not a campground) we live in colorado springs, so there’s a lot of woods & stuff around.. but do we just park the car and go or what? we dont want the cops to come… we’re 19 & 20 and plan on drinking so yeah.
we have tents & stuff..
Well, at least a slight amount of preparation is needed. I think a hiking guide for your area would be helpful. Certainly in a beautiful area where you live are probably some easy overnight hikes nearby. You will need a tent and sleeping bags and the ten essentials. If you don’t know what those are, look them up. There are lots of good lists on backpacking sites as to what various people carry, but most smart people carry at least the so called “ten essentials”. Do you have backpacks?
Just park the car somewhere safe and hike off into the woods. Not too far, and take note of which direction to return to the car is. You don’t even need to hike far, a few hundred yards is probably enough to escape any man made noise.
It’s kind of a ride from the springs, but off interstate 70 at the Idaho springs exit, there is a little road off to the right that follows along a river…peaceful place…used to spend the weekends out there when my boys were young…I use to work at the quarry at the end of the exit ramp..it’s closed now though…Blackhawk is just a few miles from there…old west town, casinos, shopping…have fun!
