What should I expect the weather to be like in Las Vegas and Grand Canyon next week?

We will be in Las Vegas on the 5th-6th. Driving to the Grand Canyon on the 7th. We are hiking to the bottom on the 8th, coming up on the 9th, then staying another night at the rim. I’m guessing the weather is going to be all over the place. Warm in LV, cold on rim and possibly warm in the canyon???? Can anyone give me advice on what to pack and when to wear what? I live in southwest alabama. I’m cold natured…not used to frigid temperatures. I have camped in below freezing weather before…not sure why.
Of course, we got all the reservations. Motel? There aren’t any motels at the bottom. Phantom Ranch is it. We are camping!!

Vegas should be a nice 80 or so but Grand Canyon is colder. Have jeans, good hiking shoes with two layers of socks, a long sleeved top, hat, sunglasses and light jacket for the canyon. You will need a backpack with snacks and water. It is an easy long walk down but a very slow hard climb on the return. Layering is important so you don’t get cold. If you are staying at the bottom, see if you can get a motel room, otherwise you will have to carry a sleeping bag, all the supplies for eating, etc. Or consider taking a burro up/down.
Camping is the best! have fun!
I’d wear tight fitting leggins and then sweatpants.
A tight long sleeve shirt, then a long sleeve t-shirt then a sweat shirt. Plenty of socks.
(I get cold)
Go to the weather channels web page. (www.weather.com) type in Grand Canyon 10 day forecast.
